Next Steps
The Alternatives Development Process Beginning:
The alternatives development process begins with stakeholders identifying alternatives based on the Purpose and Need framework. Submitted alternatives that don’t meet the Purpose and Need or have fatal flaws are screened out. From there, alternatives are evaluated based on transportation performance and environmental resource evaluation and are further refined, especially those with high impacts. While continuing to work with Stakeholders, the finalist alternative(s) continue to be refined, and these alternatives (including a no- build alternative) are presented to the public for review and comment. The preferred alternative is selected based on three criteria : transportation performance evaluation, financial sustainability, and environmental resource evaluation. Throughout the study process, stakeholder input is vital to determining the best alternative for the study area. Public Involvement is our priority throughout the development process.
